Julia Roberson

Julia discovered Pilates when she wanted to develop strength and flexibility that running and other exercise hadn’t given her. Taking classes at the studio of Alan Herdman (who brought Pilates to the UK) Julia soon found that the practice not only produced strength and flexibility gains but a sense of tone, improved posture and general wellbeing, that inspired her to study Pilates professionally. Her training focused on Pilates for rehabilitation and as a personal interest, Julia has developed her knowledge into Pilates for sport and functional movement.
Julia has worked in studios across London and continued her professional development through additional courses and self practice under other inspiring teachers in the industry. Julia is currently working on a Classical Training programme to complement her 10years of teaching experience in Contemporary Pilates. Julia teaches both Pilates Apparatus sessions.
As a mum of two small children, Julia understands the strains that pregnancy and motherhood puts on the body, and how we can exercise our body to help support it during this time of change.

Ellen Leishman

Ellen started doing Pilates as a way to manage back pain caused by a sedentary job and poor posture. Having worked in an office environment, Ellen understands the strain that hours sitting at a desk can have on the body and knows how beneficial Pilates can be.
Ellen teaches functional movement, focusing on practical, logical and useful movement for everyday life. Ellen works with people of all ages and abilities including people with back pain; pre- and post-natal clients; older clients; and people with conditions such as osteoporosis, hypermobility, arthritis and neurological conditions such as MS. Ellen is passionate about helping people with long term or chronic conditions and finds teaching Pilates hugely rewarding.
Ellen believes that Pilates is for everyone. Her classes and 1:1 sessions are inclusive, approachable and fun. She encourages her clients to work with precision and control to build strength and flexibility, improve postural imbalances and release tension.

Victoria Gilbert

As the daughter of a dancer, Victoria discovered Pilates at an early age, but it was only when she started to experience severe back pain and postural problems that she was able to see the benefits on a more personal level. After graduating from the University of St Andrews with an MA in Classics, Victoria decided to pursue bodywork and trained as a comprehensive Pilates teacher with Body Art Science International (BASI).

Victoria's knowledge of bodywork is also influenced by her Classics degree where, as part of her course, she was taught to hone in on sculptural human forms with precision and to analyse human shapes and lines.

Victoria believes the true value of Pilates is how it makes us feel outside of the studio. Her mission is to strengthen inner structures and foundations to improve day-to-day ergonomics and functional movement.

Education: Comprehensive BASI Course, Osteoporosis Workshop
